About the Author and Illustrator
Dr. K. Leann Yoda-Bachler
Dr. Yoda is a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist who currently treats patients at Denver Health and teaches residents of the Craniofacial Team at Children's Hospital Colorado in Denver. Dr. Yoda has researched the implications of dental hygiene and poor oral health in children. These topics were the focus of her master's thesis, "Trends of Mortality in Children due to Poor Oral Health." A Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, she received her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) from the University of Alabama (UAB) School of Dentistry. She subsequently studied at UAB's School of Public Health and earned a Master of Science in Public Health (MSPH) in Epidemiology after receiving a National Institutes of Health fellowship. Dr. Yoda also earned a Master of Science (MSD) and a certificate in Pediatric Dentistry from the University of Washington/Seattle Children's Hospital after finishing her residency in Pediatric Dentistry. She will be continuing her studies in January, 2026 pursuing her Doctorate in Bioethics at Loyola in Chicago.
Sarah King
Sarah Bittner King is a lifelong artist who was able to study her passion at Piedmont University in North Georgia. While there, she studied Graphic Design and Mass Communication. She graduated in May, 2023 after just three years with double majors: BFA and BA respectively. She has illustrated for the author, David M. Bachler's "Red Wings over Eastern Skies." Sarah is currently working in the industry as a designer. She is a highly sought-after illustrator for both children's and historical books.
